TRAILERS

Ever wonder why Trailers are called "Trailers"? They of course are also known as Previews, Ads, and Spots, but movie trailers got their name from the simple fact that when movies used to be exclusively distributed on film rolls, the previews were sent along attached to the trailing ends.

A good trailer can create just the right amount of buzz for a project, but it can also give too much away, through plot spoilers, in a way that makes moviegoers feel they have no need to see the finished project. Of course, if you are too vague, the audience that comes in might think they were mislead about what they have come to see. It is one of the most difficult, and most underrated, art-forms in the industry.
